Unfortunately I'm Broke. But I Can Dream ;)

I love clothes. That's a simple fact. I love wearing clothes, I love looking at clothes, I love coordinating colors, I love accessorizing, and I love looking nice and feeling confident in what I wear . One thing I do not love is spending money on clothes. Well, no- scratch that. The thing I don't like is not having money to spend on clothes. As a student who barely has time to work part time a few days a week, this is an issue I commonly come face to face with.
We all know the drill. That one when you're walking through the store for a couple household items when a shirt, or maybe a pair of jeans or a pair of flats catch your eye and suddenly you see another item that would match perfectly! You grab both and mentally calculate the total before your heart sinks a little and you place both items back on the shelf and slowly shuffle away.
Painful as it sometimes is, I often look at clothes online. It's like being able to browse through all the clothes I want without having the material temptation right before my eyes.
Today I've been doing a bit of looking and I've come up with a small list of items that have caught my eye. Enjoy!

Adorable skirts always make the top of my list when it comes to favorite articles of clothing! This maroon on black is definitely something that suits my style very well. I like the tights underneath because I generally don't like to show a lot of skin, so they let me be cute and modest!

This outfit is literally a combination of my four favorite trends. Polka dots, denim, brown jeans, and a belt!

This is something I wouldn't be comfortable wearing out and about, but I'd rock it around the house. The shorter skirt and loose shirt would make for something comfortable and stylish at the same time, while the belt adds a hint of sophistication.

I love, love, love bandannas and printed t-shirts! I have at least two outfits a week consisting of a bandanna and something like a muscle tee or loose shirt.

Another of my all time favorite trends is flannel! Timberland boots also happen to be a must for me.

I cannot resist long skirts. They're classy and simple at the same time, as well as being comfortable!

Heels and long, flowing skirts. Can't go wrong!

Heels. My fetish.

Over-sized sweaters are probably on everybody's list of favorites, but I like these because they're different! Too many sweaters just look baggy and don't do anything to compliment people's body forms, but these definitely don't take away from shape at all. They're also versatile enough to look casual or sophisticated, depending on how you dress them up!

Well I've got responsibilities to go fulfill so until next time!

Mount Everest is Mine

Every single year without fail I realize how much can change in just a year, and I'm unfailingly surprised every single year. Whether this is because more and more changes each year, or because I'm just dumb, doomed to repeat a vicious cycle of damn, a lot has changed since last new years every January, I have no idea. But I guess it doesn't matter, does it? My point is that so much has changed, and I can't wait to see what will come within the 365 days that make up 2014.

I don't make resolutions, not because I'm one of those pessimistic people who complain that there's no point because nobody keeps them, but because I just don't. I don't exactly have specific goals I feel need to be accomplished by December 31st, but with each new beginning of the years I hope life just gets better and better. I'm thankful to be able to say that so far my life has, starting from a very low point, gone uphill. You could say I've gone from below sea level to where Mt. Everest is just within my view; and who knows, maybe by the end of the year I'll be at the base of the mountain, or maybe I'll have climbed it. All I know is that I'm going to start walking with the very peak of Everest always within my sight. I won't stop until I get there, no matter how many more new years that may take.

what good means

what you don't hear when I say only "good" is something that cant really be understood
for one who's words dont easily flow it can be hard to actually know
what Im thinking and how I feel, what emotions are part of the deal
but 'good' in itself is something worthwhile, most people don't get even a smile

words like water and words like wine, they're sweet and they sound clever and fine
they comfort like silk, envelope like lace, in a deck of cards they'd be the ace
yet when syllables slip from a poet's tongue, keep in mind they may be only for fun

but when even a little flattery tumbles from my awkward mind as it fumbles
I promise, I swear, I vow on my life, there's nothing more serious, words sharp as a knife
my simplicity is at times less than persuasive, seemingly at times way too evasive
but when I use it, simply just "good" is more than enough if you just understood
inside my mind and the way it turns, how silvery lines are hard to discern

monotonous and artless as "good" may imply, it's really a sign of being tongue tied
because the things you do and the things you say, leave me breathless every day
if I was a poet who easily spoke, I still wouldnt be able to pen a beautiful stroke
because what can I say when I cant even breathe, when all I know is you're my every need?

Call Me Zingara

It's been about two years since I've had a blog. Since the downfall of my last one I've thought about creating a new page but never found the motivation. Until now that is. Now happens to be a quarter past two in the morning on December 17th by the way.
This post has absolutely no point except to add a text onto my blog to help me decide on a color scheme.
I might as well give some information about myself so this isn't completely pointless. Maybe as a reader you'll like what you see and follow this blog in hopes of reading more content you like!

  • I'm young. Closer to twenty than ten; an upperclassman at a beautiful school where Cougars rule!
  • I don't know where this blog is going or what it will be about. I just know I want to write things that people enjoy reading- maybe posts that will lead you to reflect on what you've read, or something that will make you laugh, at least bring a smile to your lips.
  • I am quite the traveler, and I promise you many of my posts will reflect this detail of my personality. I have been to most of the United States (I've lived in Alaska, actually, though I no longer reside there). In addition to that, I've been to Milan, Italy, Moscow, Russia, and Istanbul, Turkey. I have friends everywhere, though my closest confidants are in Belarus, Turkey, Italy, and Indonesia.
  • I left my heart in Istanbul. You'll probably hear more about that than you can bear. My apologies in advance.
  • I am a true animal lover, with my main fixation being on horses. Expect to read much about this.
  • My life is a complicated mess at the moment. I know all teenage people feel that way, but I promise you I'm not being melodramatic when I say this.
  • I've always, always been described as the hopeless tomboy who has her nose in a book when she's not romping around, but I hold true to a minuscule part of the female stereotype... you may hear about fashion from time to time ;)
  • I am a writer. I am a poet. I am a photographer. I am an artist.
Just the same as pretty much anybody else, I am a person, a whole person with a whole life, and that entire life is not going to fit into a post on a website for people with too much spare time; but these basic points will definitely tell you more about who I am than any other words I'd be able to write.

I feel as though my last blog was a failure in terms of my own standard for a blog due to the fact that I felt I was writing to please other people. I mean, if a person's intent is to write to keep others happy and that's what they're happy doing, then good! But I felt as though my writing was never good enough in comparison to what other people wrote about. This blog will be different. This blog will be for me. I will write for me. I will post poetry, art, my random musings, short stories, portions of my novels, current and past life events, whatever I want, and I will be pleased in doing so. My goal is to take pride in what I write, to stop comparing myself to others.

That is all.
By the way, you can call me Zingara
